BREAKING BARRIERS: THE JOURNEY OF DANIEL CRAZE, A NEURODIVERGENT ACTOR TO ACHIEVING A ROLE IN CINDERELLA PANTOMIME

By MeetKeyPeople

Daniel Craze, 31, has been passionate about acting and singing since the age of 16 and later trained at the International School of Screen Acting (ISSA) in East London. His career gained momentum with his role as Vine in White and Black and a nine-month performance stint with TAG Live.
More recently, he starred as Veronica in Cinderella at The Phoenix Theatre and was a Finalist in our Meet Key People contest, which supports underrepresented singers with a full mentorship and an EP production.

MeetKeyPeople: Hi Daniel, thank you so much for taking the time to do this interview with us!

Daniel Craze: It’s my absolute pleasure, always happy to inspire others and tell everyone about my journey.

MeetKeyPeople: You've had an incredibly busy 2024, filled with so many amazing opportunities! What have been your favorite recent projects so far and why?

Daniel Craze: Well, in 2023 I got bast alongside Bukunmi Oluwasina in the upcoming feature film drama “White and Black”, it was here I challenged my acting skills and took it to places that were hard to get to, but you learn so much about yourself through these roles, and it was an amazing experience to be apart of. TAG Live took me on to become a live Performer in Scotland for nine months straight, it was on this contract I had become more advanced, in becoming a Vocalist and a Dancer, as well as a stage actor, and discovering myself throughout the process. Also, in 2024, I found out I won Best Actor at the European Film Festival for my role in “White and Black”. So 2024 overall has been a game changer.

MeetKeyPeople: Wow amazing… Congratulations! What have been your biggest obstacles, and how did you overcome them?

Daniel Craze: Thank you! Since I was a child I could remember I wasn't the same as most children, I would have multiple ideas at once, was consistently energetic but also distracted, unless I had something I was passionate about, that's when I would become hyper fixated. The acting journey is never an easy path, most people would never fully understand my choices and along with that there came a lot of criticism. For a long time I tried to figure out how my mind worked and why it operated the way it does, and it wasn't until 2024, at the age of 31 I discovered that I had ADHD, and when you make that discovery, you start to look back on your life and all the pieces of the puzzle seem to just fit together. I was never your typical guy, whilst most guys would play football and socialise in the norm, I was obsessing over Theme Parks, practicing magic tricks and playing characters. Once I discovered how my mind worked, t...
